In order to forge a less imperfect union in a less than perfect world we the people of the global
village, sharing this planet with a biosphere that we are inexorably dependent on, declare ourselves first and foremost
as earthlings before any of our cultural conceits.
It is our identity as earthlings that unites us all. It is, in fact, our one true identity.
It is as earthlings that we can realize our interdependence and the personal responsibility that that incurs.
Cultural identities create conflict in a no-win competition for the supremacy of one over the entire world.
But the world cannot be governed on a global basis.
Communities all over the world can govern themselves within a global context. Thinking globally, acting
locally must be the governing principal along with thinking locally, acting globally. Local is global.
We can no longer entrust our destiny in the hands of governments, corporations and banks whose self-interest
is separate from the interests of the people they con, exploit and rob.
Every community, indeed, every individual now has the possibility of a global reach and of being globally connected
and globally aware about how we all must conduct ourselves, our businesses and our governments so as to be locally/globally responsible
with respect to social and natural environments.
We recognize that there is no perfect ideology through which to craft a dreamworld utopia.
We must forge as clear-sighted a vision as is humanly possible without bias to any particular ism and engage one
another within a realm that is realistically feasible.
This can only be accomplished if the microcosm forms the macrocosm.
We the people must weave the fabric of society out of ourselves and be the instruments of its design so as to
incorporate every individual within it and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to make a life for themselves.
